RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800.656.HOPE).
A highlight of the month includes a March 18th show headlined by EMM at the Knitting Factory in NoHo. EMM is a leading independent artist in the LA area, amassing millions of Spotify, Youtube and social media followers who share her passion for music, creative expression and raising awareness for Women’s rights and other relevant social issues. EMM is currently working on a documentary about her journey in the music industry, which tackles topics related to the difficulties Women face when seeking record deals, pushing back against sexism, and empowering Women to become 110% self-reliant in crafting their own music journey from the ground up.
“I’m so honored to be a part of this event and support all of the inspiring women performing with me. Bringing awareness to the unique challenges of women and especially women in music is a deeply personal passion and I’m grateful for the opportunity to speak up.” - EMM / Artist performing as part of FEMcore
Each weekend in March music fans can attend one of the 6 co-produced shows around the Los Angeles area, and will be concluded by a special March 25th show at Hotel Ziggy, hosted by Erika Eleniak with guests Doll Riot, Speed of Light, Minor Strut, Cowboy Destroy and The Anti-Groupies. Those not in the LA area can purchase tickets now for a live stream via Stageit. All 5 remaining shows have been already announced and host venues include The Knitting Factory in North Hollywood, Pourhouse in Oceanside and Tarzana based venues Corbin Bowl and The Last Call. These shows will feature the best up and coming bands, established acts and a few exciting reunions.
The purpose of FEMcore is not only to bring more attention to Woman fronted bands and songwriter/musicians, but to also use the events as a reminder that the music community needs to better understand ways to support Women who are victims of sexual violence. About The Cobalt Presents:
The concept for The Cobalt Presents began during the pandemic. As so many venues and local businesses closed due to the mandates, the idea was that when the time came, there would be a need for live music again and a resurgence of local businesses. Thus, began the thought of bringing back one of the valley’s staple music venues, only this time in a different capacity. The Cobalt Cafe founder Dave Politi along with The Radford Media Group’s Jasan Radford and Brian Lacy have brought back The Cobalt Cafe with a new energy and ideas to bring a renaissance of live music to the area as well as helping the local businesses along the way. The Cobalt was such an important part of the music scene that we wanted to make sure that legacy was kept in tact.
Bands such as Incubus, Hoobastank, Avenged Sevenfold, Jimmy Eat World and A.F.I. all got their start playing at The Cobalt Cafe. 2021 marked the 30th anniversary of The Cobalt Cafe, and the thought of celebrating that especially made perfect sense. Thus began the rebirth of The Cobalt Cafe as The Cobalt Presents. Since 2021 and over 50 shows later, The Cobalt Presents have raised over $2000 for different causes including benefiting cancer research, battered women’s shelters, refugees, first responders as well as the local Valley Relics Museum. During this time we’ve booked some of the biggest up and coming bands in the southland as well as bigger acts that have really started to make a name for themselves.
The Cobalt Presents is working with different venues across the southland on monthly events, giving these up and coming and local bands a place to play and hone their craft as well as giving the younger bands and kids a place to play and hangout as well. The Cobalt Cafe is back with new partners and invigorating ideas to help give bands a place to play again and give back to the community along the way. What’s a scene without the community involved.
About Radford Media Group:
Radford Media Group (RMG) is a Los Angeles area consultancy that provides a multitude of artists services including artist development, management, event production, PR, radio and more. RMG was founded by Jasan Radford, frontman for popular early 2000’s rock group Onesidezero and current guitarist/singer of LA group Centershift and Brian Lacy of Audioeclectica.com.
About Audioeclectica:
Welcome to AUDIOECLECTICA, Audioeclectica was created as a way to share all the musical things new and old I’ve been listening to. There is so much music out there, this is my chance to showcase bands/artists that I’m really digging or are on their way up. Music has always been my true passion and Audioeclectica is a labor of love. Having different topics and interactive posts, makes Audioeclectica a fun and different alternative to the run of the mill music sites.
Since the inception of Audioeclectica in 2014, founder and sole writer Brian Lacy has been a consistent source of new music and honest and truthful reporting of albums and live shows. The name Audioeclectica is known in the underground rock/metal communities via an organic approach and it keeps growing. In addition to the numerous fun topics that make up Audioeclectica, for example, focusing on songs found only in soundtracks, highlighting b-sides and deep cuts, recognizing albums that are unsung masterpieces, Brian does make time to head out to live shows and check out the local scene and report back with the good, the bad and the interesting.
Currently, Brian is working with The Cobalt Presents in the Los Angeles area bringing back the music scene the way it should be. Also in the works is the rebooting of Audioeclectica Radio, which will be a bi-monthly show featuring music from known and unsigned bands, interviews, guests and other collaborators.
